Hello! My name is Susan and I am running for the At Large position on the Hall County School District’s Board of Education.
I am a product of the Hall County School District, graduating from Johnson High School in 1984. From there I attended Gainesville Junior College, the University of Georgia and Clemson University. Armed with a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences in 1990, I returned home and began teaching a wide variety of math classes at Gainesville College. In 2004, I switched from being a teacher to an administrative role as the Director of Financial Aid. In 2013, two colleges merged and I was happy to take the job of Associate Director of Operations & Technology in the Office of Financial Aid at the University of North Georgia. For the next 19 years, I programmed the student information systems and awarded financial aid to thousands of students each year.
I retired from UNG in 2023, took up gardening and have become very involved by attending meetings of the Hall County Board of Education, as well as, a variety of meetings relating the Hall County Government. Come say hello at the meetings. I’ll be the one taking notes on my tablet!
