Responsibilities
The Board of Education for the Hall County School District is made up of 5 members. There are 4 district representatives plus one At Large representative who serves the entire county. I am on the ballot for the At Large position.
The school board’s main role is to set policies, guide the district’s direction, and ensure schools serve students and the community effectively.
- Set Visions, Goals, and Policies
- Hire and Evaluate the Superintendent
- Approve the School Budget
- Represent the Community
- Oversee Student Achievement
- Approve Major District Decisions
- Ensure Legal and Ethical Compliance
The members of the school board cannot
- manage daily school operations
- act individually for the board
- violate open meeting laws
- use the position for personal benefit
- bypass hiring procedures
- access student or staff confidential records
- campaign using school resources
